For some months prior to March 2001, a group of friends met on a un-scheduled and impromptu basis to have lunch together,to discuss freely, and debate current issues of the day in an open friendly manner. In February of that year at the conclusion of one such lunch, one of the party suggested that as we all enjoyed ourselves so much that we should put our lunch and discussion on a regular basis and invite others to join us. Thus the Non Political Correctness Luncheon Club was born and held its inaugural Luncheon Meeting on 8th March 2001 Eight attended that lunch and our numbers have swelled to over 20 since.
Not all are able to attend every luncheon for a multitude of reasons - but we seldom sit down with less than 8 and mostly more come because they do get great enjoyment with good food, wine in the company of intelligent mature men like themselves.
Most of the members presently are retired professional or retired "self-employed" business people from a range of backgrounds.Among the members are some who have not yet retired - younger men some employed, some self-employed.No distinction is made. All have several characteristics in common - they all enjoy good food, wine, good conversation and debate without hostility or rancour. They also - despite often having opposing political loyalties, share a great contempt for political correctness.
Political correctness is regarded with disdain because it stifles debate on the real issues, clouds judgement and renders ineffective the democratic process. The "Media" in all its forms is judged to be a major culprit in the process of spreading political correctness.
The essential purpose behind the creation of the N.P.C. Luncheon Club, is to provide a forum where men of good will can meet and enjoy each others company to discuss events in an atmosphere free from political correctness.
This web site was created;-
1. to enable members to contact each other, disseminate information and to encourage opposition to the distortion of information its effects on perceptions of events engendered by the general "political correctness" of our society.
2. to provide a forum "on-line" for members where members can introduce topics to other members and have on-line discourse with them.(no need to meet necessarily).
3. to provide web links to both Newspapers and Magazines that may not be known to Members and who have shown to be less inclined to shroud the truth with distortion .
4. a Feedback facility to enable Members and others to comment on the content of this web site and other matters to the Editor of the web site.
5. to provide a means to encourage others who would like to join the club (or help set-up their own similar club in their own locality)
