Political Correctness and Human Rights. by David Hughes-Jones,
Since 1945 all the Western countries have been deluged with legislation that although had appeal to the majority of the electorats in these countries.was seldom debated publicly.
Among the legislation that has had and continues to have greatest impact on ordinary people was that concerning "Human Rights".
Because of the ghastly revelations of death camps in Germany and the genocidal madness of the Nazi's very much in mind governments in the West, took little persuasion to pass legislation for "Human Rights" urged on by ideological activists on the left side of the political spectrum.
It all sounded so right but people including the legislators appreciated that they had released a genii with power to create results far removed from the original intentions by handing to the judiciary powers previously resting only in the Parliament..The Law of unintended consequences operated once more!
It is significant that almost no countries outside of the West have introduced similar legislation .
